A Interesting myth to tell is that Hermes liberated Io, the lover of Zeus from the hundred eyed glant Argos. Argos was orderd by Hera, the jealous wife of Zeus. Hermes charmed the giant with the lovely sound of the flute. While Argos was asleep Hermes cut his head and released Io. Hermes like many other gods has affairs with multiple gods and even animals like sheeps and goats. He invented foot racing, boxing, gymnastics and he made the alphabet. Hermes got in trouble a lot, so Zeus gave him many tasks like being in charge of guiding dead souls to the underworld so he would be busy and wouldn't get in trouble as much.
